Favourite Drugstore Products

Saturday, 12 March 2011

Initially I wanted to do six drugstore products that are my favourites but ended up with one extra.
You might notice that I have three ELF products. I have also spoken about them in the past. I love how their prices are so low but the quality of some of their products is amazing. The rest are products that I have tried and tested quite a lot and found that they are really good. Obviously they might not work for every one; especially as we all have different skin types.

The search for the perfect foundation is probably a mission for most women. It is so difficult to find one that does everything you want it to. My skin is combination/oily and sometimes it really frustrated me when I couldn't find a foundation that looked natural on my skin but also covered well. I just love everything about this foundation. It is medium coverage and smells like apricots. It lasts all day. The only downside is that I have to blot a couple of times more than normal but I don't mind that when the foundation is so good!
NYX blushes, I have found to be amazing. This one is in 'Desert Rose'. It is such a pretty rosy pink which gives a gorgeous flush of colour to the skin. It is really pigmented so it will last a long time too.
This is the ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder. I use the bronzer more often but I love this combination. It has been compared to NARS's Orgasm and Laguna duo. The bronzer is great for contouring. The blush is a peachy pink with gold shimmer. It is perfect for using in the summer because it gives a nice glow to the skin.
This primer has been compared to the UD Primer Potion which it definitely is very similar to. It is a great base for the eyelid and keeps eye shadow on all day with no creasing. The great thing is that it is only £1.50, very affordable!
This Waterproof Eyeliner Pen is also by ELF. When I first started wearing make up I used to use this all the time to line my eyes. The felt tip type applicator makes it so easy to apply and it is a very dark black. It also will not budge once it is on. I use this on the days when I don't have much time and it works amazingly.
Barry M has one of the best nail polishes in my opinion. I've said before how much I like them because they are really opaque. On my nails here I only applied one coat and that was enough. This particular shade is Grey. It seems like one of the most boring colours but it is also the one that I wear the most. I feel like it always looks good and I don't have to be extra careful to match it with my outfit. It also lasts a number of days before it starts chipping.

Max Factor's False Lash Effect Mascara is definitely my favourite and has been for quite some time. You can see the review of it here.

I would have put my favourite eye shadow but honestly there were so many to choose from I couldn't pick one.

What are your favourite products? I would love to get some insight on brands I haven't tried yet.. not that I need more make up!
