Small MAC Haul

Friday, 4 March 2011

I know I'm on my little spending 'ban' but I had ordered a few things in the last couple of days which I received today. I ordered from Debenhams as they are having a 10% off sale on all beauty and fragrance.
I have recently purchased a Z Palette which I am slowly adding eye shadows to. They are mainly de-potted Urban Decay and MAC. I needed a gold colour so I got Gorgeous Gold.

This is a gorgeous yellow gold but it also has a very slight green iridescence to it. It is so pretty, but to be honest, although I like MAC shadows, I do prefer Urban Decay. I feel like their shadows are more creamy and smooth. I also find them to be more pigmented.

I already have a paint pot in Rubenesque which I adore so I thought I'd try out Blackground.

This paint pot will be great as a base for a smoky eye. I can't wait to use it and having swatched it, I find that it doesn't smudge at all. It literally sticks to the skin so well that even when rubbing it, it doesn't move.

Lastly, I bought a cremesheen glass in Fashion Scoop.
Does it show up? Not much.. I was pretty frustrated with this. I have heard so many good things about it but I know that it just will not work for me. I am thinking of just selling it or swapping it as I've only swatched it on my hand. I think it'll look good on someone with lips that are not very pigmented and maybe over a nude lipstick.

It is so disappointing when something you buy isn't what you wanted. But I suppose that is what happens when you take a chance and purchase make up online.

  1. I've put Blackground on my wish-list even though I recently ordered Black bean from NYX. I much prefer the paint-pots as bases because they don't budge when you put them on. Great haul!

  2. I love paint pots, blackground is a great one to get- I used it yesterday and it lasted a really long time! I haven't tried blackbean although I have got other jumbo eye pencils which are good too x
