Review: Elizabeth Arden Lip-Fix Cream

Thursday, 14 April 2011

When I first started wearing make up, I never really cared for my skin that well and never really thought to research what kind of skincare products would suit my skin type. I am regretting not having taken care of my skin that much because I really feel it is important.

Obviously, now I have changed the way I do things and try to prioritise and put my skincare first. Once that is the way you want it, it makes the application of make up so much easier.

I purchased the Lip-Fix Cream by Elizabeth Arden a few months ago when there was a sale on ACHICA and I managed to get hold of it at a decent price.
I have never really used a primer on my lips and never thought it necessary. This was a purchase I made mainly for softening and fixing my lips which can get chapped from time to time.
The cream itself is white and very smooth in texture. It glided on to my lips quite easily and was absorbed into my lips pretty well. I really feel like it smoothed out my lips and worked quite well as a lip balm. My lips feel a lot softer after using this cream. It is perfect as a base for lip products.

When applying lipstick on top I felt like it seemed to apply smoother. It works very well as a primer because not only does it stop my lipstick from feathering, it also keeps it on for a lot longer than usual.

The cost of it generally is quite steep (I think around £18) but I managed to get hold of it for £8.

I'm not sure I would purchase again unless there was a good deal on because although I really like this product, there are other products out there that can moisturise your lips. Primers for lips are also readily available by a number of brands.

Do you use a primer for your lips? Any recommendations?

  1. Nice review! I don't use lip primers, I prefer lip stains if I want my lipcolour to last longer :)
