Guest post: Ponds Make up Remover by Beauteous Blog

Thursday, 4 August 2011

I have another guest post by the the lovely Sidrah of Beauteous Blog.

My name is Sidrah from Beauteous Blog. So today I am going to reviewing the Pond’s Bare and Repair Conditioning Make Up Remover with grape-seed extract and vitamin E. Now I bought this product a few weeks ago and I wanted to really test it out to see how this product is.
Here is some product description from their website:

This is Pond's. You've known us forever. But in a way, you're just about to meet us. This is our new face care line. Made with the most effective ingredients, the latest technology, and close to 100 years of face care experience. Our products are uniquely designed to renew and rejuvenate the skin. They protect against aging, stress, and the environment. And they do it with deliciously luxurious formulas unlike anything you've tried.

  • Removes all visible traces of eye make-up while it gently conditions the skin
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Non-comedogenic won't clog pores
  • Non Greasy
  • Safe for sensitive skin and contact lens wearers

I’ve enjoyed this product since I’ve bought it, I’ve never used any other make up remover besides the Avon make up remover which I didn’t like so much because it was a cream/lotion form and it didn’t remove mascara that effectively. Now Oil based make up removers I am fond of, I love using Extra Virgin Olive Oil as a make up remover but for some it might clog up your pores.

I don’t use make up remover all over my face, I only use it for eye makeup because waterproof eyeliners and mascara is a little tough to get rid of. The best aspect about using oil based make up removers is that it conditions the skin and eye lashes. It’s very gentle on the eyes and especially with lashes.

How I use the product:
First off you have you shake the bottle for about 10-20 seconds in order to mix the oil with the product. Then I take a cotton pad and place it over the top and get some product.
Here I had some thick cream eye liner…

After that I take the cotton pad and place it on my eye for about 10 seconds WITHOUT rubbing. Then I go over the eye again this time with a clean part of the cotton pad. After all of the make up is removed I then wash my face because this product does leave a tiny bit of oily. This works great for lipsticks as well! This works wonders to remove stubborn eyeliner and mascara.
And Voila!
The only thing I don’t like about this is the packaging, sometimes I end up not closing the lid tight enough and because you have the shake up the bottle some of the product comes out and it’s very messy. So I am planning on transferring this product into another bottle with the smaller hole.
  • Gets rid of stubborn eye makeup
  • Is gentle on the eyes
  • Bottle is very flimsy.
  • Can leave oil residue if remover isn’t washed off.
I purchased this product at my local store for 200PKR, this product is available at Amazon.
Overall rating: 4/5
