First Impressions: Glossybox (October)

Monday, 17 October 2011

I was very surprised to see my Glossybox arrive so quickly. The past month has flown by so that is probably the reason why I never realised it was that time of the month again.

As it is the six month anniversary, there were more items than normal which was nice to see.

1. Dermalogica Age Smart Multivitamin Thermafoliant
The Dermalogica Thermafoliant is a skin polisher which is something I have never used before. The only thing is that it is an anti-ageing product which I'm not sure I really need at  the age of 25! This retails at £40.50/75ml.

2. Dermalogica Age Smart Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque
This product is used to regenerate and recover the skin. I am all for using new skincare products so it will be interesting to see how well this works. Retail Price: £30/70ml.

3. Leighton Denny Expert Nails in Babydoll

Glossybox seem to have nail polishes in a lot of their boxes, but I kind of like that. I would never normally consider purchasing a nail polish from this brand. I was really kind of surprised at seeing this shade because I had just a few days ago been thinking how I want to get a pink nail polish very similar to this! It is a full size bottle which is great! Retail Price: £11/12ml.

4. Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Moray

This is a retractable eyeliner. When I swatched it I was very impressed with the creaminess of the product. Now that it has dried on my hand I have also noticed how it isn't budging even though I have been trying to rub it off. This is also a full size product. So far so good! Retail Price: £13.

5. Robert Piguet Eau de Parfums in Fracas, Visa and Calypso

Each sample has a unique fragrance and I personally like 'fracas' more than the others. That is not to say the other two are unpleasant, but fracas is floral which I seem to be getting into a lot more lately. Retail Price: £65/50ml.

As the extra little sixth product, I received a Dermalogica bag with a small sample of the Renewal Lip Complex that helps to restore lip tissue. Retail Price: £22.50/1.75ml

Overall, I am still liking the Glossybox and feel like it is well worth it. I enjoy being surprised every month with a variety of products that I would not normally purchase.

What do you think of the products this month?

  1. I am quite happy with this months products but 3 of one brand didn't impress me. To me the whole point was for it to find new brands xx

  2. I agree that there was too much of Dermalogica but personally, I have never tried their products so I didn't mind x x

  3. Wow! Really looking forward to getting mine this month - because yours looks so good! Not sure about anti-ageing products. Some people use them as a prevantative method and to renew the skin, but some say it should not be used early. Either way, I will definitely be using the mask if I do get that!

  4. Looks like a great mixture of products. :) x

  5. Safira, I will definitely be trying these products out either way- I'm sure they can't do any harm with them being just a sample size? x x

Pyari Beauty, I can feel it, you're going to go back to subscribing to them again aren't you? lol x
