First Impressions: New Sigma Brushes

Wednesday, 19 October 2011
Hiya,

I was very excited about seeing the new Sigma brushes that have just been released and so picked up a few of them.
I already have the three Sigma Kabuki Brushes and the new F86 tapered one completed the set.
I have used this for contouring and highlighting so far. I really like it for contouring as I feel it reaches the perfect area and makes it look really good.

There are four new precision brushes but I only got two as those were the ones I felt would be used by me the most.
The P80 flat top brush is really good for blending concealer under the eye area and I really enjoyed using it. The bristles are all incredibly soft making using these brushes a good experience. This brush really gives a flawless finish under my eyes.

The P86 tapered brush I found has several uses. I tried it with highlighting over the cheekbones, on the nose and I also tried it with applying shadow in the outer corner of the eye and blending. I personally really liked it for applying shadow on the outer corner of the eye. It might be too large for some people but for me it works really well. I tried it with getting foundation in to the little crevices like the sides of the nose and find it works pretty well for that too.

I really enjoy the Kabuki brushes that I have been using for almost a year now and love these brushes too. It makes me want to consider buying the other two precision brushes that I didn't get.

What do you think of them?

  3. I think they were around £12 each, but I feel like for the quality they are definitely worth it. My other ones I have used so much but they are exactly how they were when I first bought them x

  7. I honestly still don't know what makes Kabuki brushes (of the common, non-actual Kabuki related sort) different from other brushes. Of all the above I think I like the tapered one best.
