Its Zahra here from Zahra’s Cosmetic Bag and I’m doing a guest post for the lovely Atia.
I wanted to share my new foundation routine with you. Before I was an avid MAC lover but that has calmed down a bit now and I've switched up my products.
To start with I prime my face with Benefit ThatGal primer. This has a pink tone which is known for correcting dark spots but I don't find it really does that. I like it because it improves the texture of my skin to apply my foundation onto and a slight luminosity. I don't really know if this primer actually does anything to help my foundation's longevity but I quite like it. Don't think this would be a recommendation of mine as its not worth the price. Does anyone else think Benefit products are a little overpriced?
As the concealer I use isn't a perfect match to my skin tone, I tend to apply this under my foundation. The one I use is the Collection 2000 lasting perfection in Deep 4. I was a little skeptical about buying this and I had been umming and ahhing for a while. Decided to just try it as it wasn't breaking the bank balance and I'm very happy I did so. Applying three dots on my under eye circles and any other places where I've got an uneven skin tone. I then use the No 7 concealer brush to blend it out.
Next I apply Nars Sheer Matte in Barcelona with my e.l.f. Powder brush. I never used to like applying foundation with this brush and in my book it was strictly for powder. Since using Nars Sheer Matte, I find it works really well for this foundation.
If I still see any imperfections I'm not happy with then I'll use either MAC prolong wear concealer in NC35. Finally to top it all off and set all of the makeup I apply MAC Sheer Pressed Powder in NC40 very lightly across my face using the Body Shop Face and Body brush. This is the one brush I'm not too happy about so I would love any recommendations. I've had it for years but I'm sure there are better brushes out there.
