Sigma Brushes Free Worldwide Delivery!

Friday, 25 November 2011
Hiya,

I had to put a post up about the deal that is on the Sigma website today. As soon as I found out about it, I had to take advantage of it! I have just made an order which I will share with you once it has arrived but I am so excited about it!

With it being Black Friday, Sigma are offering free worldwide delivery just for today. As I am sure you are probably aware, Sigma is a very popular company in the YouTube and blogging world. They sell high quality brushes, make up and accessories at prices that are definitely more reasonable than most.

I have purchased from them before and they haven't let me down which is why I really would like to recommend them.

They have many kits or you can also buy brushes individually.

I have found that their brushes don't tend to shed much which is definitely important for me.

Check out their products here and enter the code BF2011 at checkout.

First Impressions: Glossybox (November)

Wednesday, 23 November 2011
Hiya,

I received the latest Glossybox on Monday morning but only just managed to sit down and blog about it now. I think, after seeing the contents this time, I am now on the fence about whether or not I should continue with it. Obviously, opinions differ so what I might not be too happy with, you may really like!

1. Arbonne FC5 Cooling Foot Creme

Although I don't use foot creams, in the last few weeks I have been thinking about getting one because my feet have been dryer than normal but I had just not bothered to look for one. This will be a good way for me to get started and try it out. I haven't heard of this brand so it will be interesting to see how well it works for me. Retail price: £19/118ml.

2. Dead Sea Spa Magik-Dead Sea Bath Salts

There was another product from the same brand sent a few months back which I thought was pretty good. This however, I have already given to my sister as I know she loves bath products which are relaxing to the body. That is not to say that I would not have used it, I probably would have but I felt like she would have enjoyed it more. I will find out how she gets along with it though. Retail Price: £5.50/1kg.

3. Monu Skin Perfector

As far as I can tell, this is a face primer. I am probably most excited about trying this because I really love trying primers out to see how well they work with my skin. It will be great to see the difference it makes. Retail Price: £16.25/50ml.

4. Nail Rock Designer Nail Wraps

This is probably something most people would like but I am not one to wear nail polish often, especially one that lasts a few days so I highly doubt that I would try this. I probably will just give it away to someone.

5. Serge Lutens Perfume Samples

I have never heard of this brand to have tried them before. These are supposed to be scents for men and women. I personally prefer more girly scents so these were not ideal for me. Retail Price: 100ml/£86 or 50ml/£78.

To conclude, I honestly feel a little let down by the box this month. The products, although are not terrible, they didn't exactly wow me either. I will probably wait another month and then decide whether or not I should carry on with the subscription.

What did you think of the box thins month?

First Impressions: NARS Danmari All About Cheeks Palette

Sunday, 20 November 2011
Hiya,

I recently got hold of the new limited edition NARS Danmari palette which consists of a collection of six powders. I also needed a pump for my NARS Sheer Glow foundation so picked that up too.

I do wish there was a pump with all foundations or a standard pump that would fit all foundation bottles, it would be so much easier to just have one which we could use. They are not too pricey though so it isn't too much of a big deal.

There are four blushers, one bronzer and one highlighter in this palette.

I wanted to try out Orgasm, Casino and Sin the most. Orgasm definitely lived up to the expectations but I still prefer Deepthroat because I feel like it flatters my skin tone a little better. Casino is a really pretty bronzer. It works so well with my skin and looks very natural.  Sin is a unique shade which I don't have a dupe of. I am really excited about wearing it.

The Hungry Heart highlighter (the one on the left from the Hungry Heart duo) is very subtle with a light, gold sheen. I usually love my shimmery Accessorize bronzer in Golden Sand for highlighting but this is fantastic for use in the winter when I don't want anything too sparkly.

Super Orgasm is a very pretty shade but it has some large chunks of glitter which are pretty worrying when swatched! I feel like there will be a lot of fallout which isn't something I look for in a blush. I will still try to work with it though.

Lastly, Desire is a really bright pink and it will be a fun shade to wear. All the shades are very pigmented as NARS products always are.

The only thing that made me hesitate (apart from the excessive glitter in Super Orgasm) is the price. It retails at £45. But if you consider the product you get it is actually a fabulous deal. One blush/bronzer/highlight usually costs around £20.50 and although these are smaller in size, really, do we ever finish one blush?

The icing on the cake was a free sample which I received too.
I have not tried the NARS Makeup Cleansing Oil before so it will be interesting to see how well this works.

What do you think of the palette? Would you buy it?

Review: L'oreal Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer

Thursday, 17 November 2011
Hiya,

How many of us have been on the hunt for the perfect face primer? I know that I have tried so many different ones but always wished there was something more to them. Something that would really keep my face matte, that would make my skin look smooth and fresh and perfect... Is that even possible??

I suppose you could say I came very close to that when I came across the L'oreal Smoothing Resurfacing Primer for the face. I have tried a number of primer's but was always left wondering whether it actually had made any difference.

The packaging for this primer is actually a downside (way to start a positive review!). I don't really like dipping my fingers in to get the product out. The ugly looking sticker from Superdrug doesn't exactly help with the look of the packaging either but overall I think it does look pretty nice.

As you can see from the picture, the product is creamy and smooth. It is quite thick which normally I would hesitate to put on my face because I like products on my face to be light. This however blends like a dream and feels weightless but at the same time smoothens my skin out so well.

Wearing foundation on top of this and removing it around 10 hours later, I have found that it keeps my face a lot more matte than usual and also keeps the makeup from sliding off a few hours later.

I look a lot fresher with this primer throughout the day which I feel is exactly what we want in a primer.

It is slightly pricier than other High Street branded primer's at £14.29 but there is a 3 for 2 offer on at Superdrug where you can purchase it. I have heard though, that the Anti-Shine Mattifying Primer is the same but in liquid form and cheaper so I might give that a go next time.

Have you tried this? Would you pay this price for a high street brand primer?

Winter Must Haves: Nail Polish

Monday, 14 November 2011
Hiya,

I thought I would start up a series of posts in which I will be sharing my must haves for the winter.  This will be skincare and make up since I am an avid user of both types of products.

I'll start of with the nail products that I know I will be wearing a lot of this winter.

Left to right: Sally Hansen Commander in Chic, OPI Yodel Me On My Cell, OPI Extravagance, Revlon Facets of Fuchsia

Commander in Chic by Sally Hansen has been a favourite of mine for the last few months. I love the brush which makes application easy and it lasts a long time on my nails.
Recent NOTD with Commander In Chic
Yodel Me On My Cell by OPI is a gorgeous blue/green shade with shimmer. It is a lovely darker shade to wear in the colder months.
From recent post- Lower nail shows exact look
I love shades like these because I feel like they flatter my skin tone pretty well.

I have another OPI nail polish which I know I will be wearing more often now.
O.P.I Extravagance
This came in a past Glossybox and I was really happy with it. It is a very pretty sparkly, purple shade.

Lastly I am very excited about the new Revlon shade in Facets of Fuchsia. I am currently doing a huge giveaway and you can win one of these, which you can enter here.
It is a sheer black (which you can create a more opaque colour from when you apply a few coats) with small and large chunks of purple glitter. I feel like this is a perfect autumn/winter shade.

What nail polishes are you looking forward to wearing this winter?

My October Favourites

Saturday, 5 November 2011
Hiya,

Another month has gone by so quickly. I feel like this year has just passed by and I haven't even realised it. I am really happy right now though and I feel like I've learnt a lot about myself this year. I don't think I have ever felt so comfortable with my life before.

Did that just turn into a ramble?

We'll just get right into the last months' favourites!

1. NYC Bronzer in Sunny

Sadly this bronzer is not available at shops in the UK but you can purchase it at FragranceDirect at a very good price.

I really like that this bronzer is matte and not orange at all. It looks very natural and for someone like me who used to avoid bronzers for the fear of them making me look unnatural, I think this is a very good bronzer.

2. Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick in Airy Fairy

Another product which, unfortunately is not available in the UK but it can be purchased from Ebay at a very cheap price. This lipstick has made it into my top five because I love how easy this lipstick is to wear. It is not drying at all and looks gorgeous with a smokey eye.

3. Barry M Nail Paint in Mushroom
This is probably one of the more popular nail polishes from Barry M. It is literally a mushroom shade which I have seen many versions of by different brands. This is a lovely shade to wear in the Autumn and the price is great too at just £2.99.

4. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Rose Quartz

MAC came out with this MSF in the Semi-precious collection a few months ago. I did purchase it quite late though and have been using it for the last month quite regularly. The outer shade is a very pretty pink-coral blush with shimmer and the inner shade is a lovely highlight. I feel like this is a product that is worth buying because it can be used for two purposes. I am not sure if it is still available but the last time I checked on the Debenhams site it was still in stock.

5. Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Eyeshadow Palette

I cannot say enough good things about this palette! It has almost every shade I could want. There are plenty of neutral shades and also a variety of bright and colourful shades. There is a matte black which is amazingly pigmented and a few very unique shades. Nine times out of ten I have probably been using this palette in the month of October. It is a definite must have for me!

What have you just loved using last month?
