100 Day Beauty Buying Ban!

Thursday, 3 January 2013
Hiya,

So, in the last year, I have been prone to trying out lots of new products and not really thinking too much about it. Recently, I saw Grace from All That Slap saying she was going to go on a 100 day beauty buying ban and thought about what a great idea it was. I didn't have the courage to try it myself but when I saw her encouraging others, I decided to have a go too. I do need it, with quite a lot of expenses in the next few months.

So, as of the 1st of January (as that is the date most bloggers are going with), no buying anything! I will have a haul or two, which were things I got before this date but after that, you will not be seeing another haul for quite some time!

Understandably, yes I am a little worried, having already seen Limecrime's new eyeshadow helper, which I REALLY wanted to try out.. But I think I will hold back and wait. It will give me time to appreciate the vast amount of make up I already have.

I probably will have a blog sale soon too, once I have sifted through make up I barely, if ever, use! Would you be interested?

Lastly, if anyone else wants to do this, I would definitely recommend it! You will probably end up saving a lot of money and that could go towards something special that you may have always wanted or it could help go towards a bill you need to pay off.

Grace has organised a twitter chat at 8pm GMT on the 10th of January (Thursday) so if you want to take part, #spendingban is where it is at!

  1. I'm really tempted by this and think I could get away with not buying Beauty stuff unless I really needed it (like face wash etc) but some people are banning themselves from clothes, books etc and I really want to have a clothes spree come January payday! I might try it for certain bits though and stop myself from becoming a hoarder! Good luck with this and I'd be really interested in a follow up post to see how you're doing :) xxx

    1. I'm only sticking to beauty too, but the one thing I will need soon is a facial cleanser, which I will get if I run out. Otherwise, I think I will just get used to it! I hope.......

  2. Fab post! I think the more of us who take part the more encouraged we will feel. I was only going to do 30 days, as I didn't trust that I would stick to it, then thought there is no point of only doing half measures. I will do it properly.
I am already looking at other ways I can save money - through food shopping, taking sandwiches to work etc. It all adds up. And I think the perils of being a beauty blogger are that there are so many things out there you want to try out and review that it becomes easy to buy the whole lot! And it's just natural to spend elsewhere too. But we have to encourage each other to stick to it! xx

    1. It does all add up you're right. It's just so tempting whenever I go out shopping, it's hard to leave without getting anything!

I'm also going to try and cut down on other things too, not just make up but everything! Supporting each other will definitely help, I know I will need a bit of a push at times too x
