Products I Regret Buying

Tuesday, 29 January 2013
Hiya,

I guess everyone, at some point will have to admit that sometimes some products just do not work out for you and it was a total waste of money buying them! I have come across a few which I just wish I had not bought.
Now just looking at these items you wouldn't think that they were unusable because some of them are so popular. But they have turned out to be products that I probably would not repurchase.

This HD powder by ELF was something I really liked in the beginning and I used it a lot. But the fact that it is so bulky always puts me off and I have completely stopped using it.

This blush is actually very pretty but I never touch it. I feel like powder blushes are so much easier to handle and just quicker to apply. But I do want to try and use it more often.

These are reasonably well pigmented but I just don't use this palette. The shades are just ok, the pigmentation not amazing and it's just a bit of a 'meh' palette.

This shade is very pretty. It is smooth, creamy, blends perfectly but I don't use red eyeshadow very often. I just don't want to get rid of it though.

This is the Urban Decay primer potion in 'Sin'. I honestly don't think that the primer potions are that special because I feel like other eyeshadow bases work better on my eyelids. Having said that, I may try to just use this up because otherwise it will just go bad.

This has been raved about quite a lot. Do I think it should be? Maybe, but it is a little dark for my under eye area. I think the light version may have worked better on me. That and also the fact that it cakes up a little, I don't think I will be in a hurry to repurchase this.

These are like the MAC paint pots. This creaseless cream shadow is a lovely shade but it is not creaseless on me at all! Within an hour of application, this creases on me and looks awful. I still like the shade and try it out in different ways but I know, that I just cannot get on with it.

I could probably come up with a few more products which I regret buying but I think i will leave that for another post, another time!

What products do you wish you had never bought?

  2. The ELF blush doesn't work for me either, though it's better than other cream blushes cause it's not as greasy as other cream blushes in my stash. But I loved the HD powder a lot!

  4. I wish I hadn't bought all those Sleek palettes... I have over 10 and I barely touch them! They're all amazing but they just don't get used. I wouldn't repurchase the ELF HD powder either, it's okay but nothing special.

  5. I dont understand the hype with the primer potions, I find mac paint pot in painterly is a much better eyeshadow base. The Primer potions did nothing!

    1. Right? I haven't tried Painterly but I do want to, I have Rubenesque and prefer that to the primer potion. I think once a product gets hyped up everyone (including me) goes out to buy it.. A bit of an anti-climax if you ask me...

  7. Great Post! Sometimes a product just don't work for you no matter how popular or good it is! I have tried some ELF products but don't like them much. It's sad that NYX Palette didn't work very well for you, I've heard other people complaining about them too but their single eyeshadow seem promising.
