Review: YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick in #5 Beige Etrusque

Friday, 18 January 2013
Hiya,

I only own a few high end, luxury brands of lipstick (I wouldn't consider MAC as one of the luxury brands) and YSL has been a brand that I have mainly tried because there is always just so much to be heard about it!

I got the YSL lipstick in #5 Beige Etrusque over a year ago but never thought to review it.

From the packaging, you can probably tell that it has a few scratches. I think that is one of the downsides to it as you have to take care of it or it will scratch.

I do love how luxurious this feels in the hand. The overall look of it is very 'expensive' which, price-wise it is too! It retails at £23.50.

The shade is really pretty! I tend to get more neutral shades when it comes to higher end make up, I am not sure why!

The consistency of it is very creamy and smooth. The lasting power is around 3-4 hours but who wouldn't want to whip one of these out to reapply anyway?

Pro's
- Pretty packaging
- Wide range of shades available
- Creamy, Smooth

Con's
- Lasting power not amazing
- Packaging can get scratched
- Expensive

On the whole, I do like this lipstick; not as much as the Rouge Volupte by YSL, but I enjoy wearing this. There are so many shades available and you are sure to find one that works for you.

  3. Gorgeous shade! I always look at nudes in high end ranges, I think a lot of high street brands have a really poor nude selection.
