February 2013 Glossybox

Sunday, 24 February 2013

I received the Glossybox a couple of weeks ago and have since had an opportunity to try some of the products out.

The box this month had a big bow printed on it which I thought was pretty.

What was the first thing that popped out to me? The lollipop of course!

This has now long gone of course, although the hubby decided to have it so I am not exactly sure how tasty it was!

The anatomicals brand is a brand I have heard of but never tried out previously.

This is a full size cleanser, but it is not really that expensive in the shops. I would not consider this to be a 'luxury' product, but I will use it all the same. Retail price: £5.

Next I received the Sassoon shine spray. I rarely wear products like these in my hair but it was nice to receive something I wouldn't normally go out of my way to buy.

This does make my hair shiny which is nice. I highly doubt I would buy the full size, although I did like this product.. annoyingly stuck in my ways? Yes! Retail price: £14.89.

MeMeMe have made a few appearances in the Glossyboxes and each time I have been reasonably impressed. This time it was their mascara.

Well, truthfully, I have not used this yet. The main reason being that I am currently using two mascara's and as they tend to run out pretty fast, I did not want to waste it. The brush is pretty large though, I have pretty high expectations. Retail Price: £7.99.

Next is a mineral eyeshadow by Micabella. This is not a brand I am familiar with really but I don't mind trying new ones out.

This is an ok product. It is not amazing or out of the ordinary. It is a shimmery brown eyeshadow. I will probably use it from time to time. But am I wowed? Not really. Retail Price: £14.95. Is that their price for a 2.5g eyeshadow? It is indeed! Too expensive in my opinion, I will not be needing to repurchase, nor will I try other ones out. I feel like I could probably find something just like this, if not better, at a drugstore.

Lastly, a lipstick by Miners Cosmetics in Dreamer.

Although this looks very pretty on the skin, it is one of the WORST products I have ever bought or received. On my lips, it is a shimmery, browny pink mess! I literally grimaced when I applied it. The shimmer can be felt on the lips and I couldn't even bear to keep it on to see the lasting power. Quite honestly, I don't care. I do not want to wear it again. Retail Price: 3.99. Worth it? Most definitely not!

Ok, so I am not that happy about this box. It doesn't have all horrible products but most of them I would not buy myself.

I really hope next month they are a little better because, this box did not make me very happy!
